I got a new haircut recently. I thought about blogging about that for the H post, but really what more is there to say. I went in with longish hair. Then came out with shortish hair. Pretty standard procedure.
But there is another H word that I am excited about.
Home. The place where my family is. I’m going back home to visit this week. It’s been a while.
It’s going to be great.
I have the most awesome family every. My sister has been counting down for at least a week for me to visit. And my nephew will not let anyone forget to get me at the airport. My mom has been planning what to cook me and is excited for me to teach her how to use her smartphone. (My last visit, she learned how to text. Best thing I ever taught her.) My dad is pretty excited for me to come too. He is saving leftovers from Easter dinner for me.
I can’t wait!
Aww, hope you have a lovely time with your family!
ReplyDeleteSounds heavenly!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely time at home, as they say, "There's no place like home"
ReplyDeleteWonderful H post.
Yvonne,
We all want to know: how was it?!
ReplyDeleteAwww that's so sweet! What are they cooking for you? I do love to hear about food... your sister is so cute with the countdown! :')
ReplyDeleteThere's no place like home.
ReplyDeleteSeriously. It can be a source of horrible memories if you had a dysfunctional family situation or the place you always feel loved and welcome. I'm glad yours sounds like the latter.
Great post! I love my family too and we need to get back there to Michigan and Ohio and visit both sides of the family soon! Have a safe trip.
ReplyDeleteTo quote from The Wizard of Oz, 'There's no place like home.'
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! There is really no place like home!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing as precious as family, enjoy your visit.
ReplyDeleteHome is a wonderful place! Hope you have a warm and wonderful homescoming!
ReplyDeletehave a great time! Having a close family is a blessing. My son cooked his first holiday meal, and it was great. (He didn't learn it from me, however. (I think the cooking gene bypassed me somehow).
ReplyDeleteSafe journey!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip home.

ReplyDeleteI only get home to see my parents once a year, and I know how much I look forward to it. Have a wonderful trip!
I hope you have a wonderful visit! I'm lucky to live near my siblings and parents, but I haven't lived near extended family since I was 7.

How exciting for you! Someone was just telling me today about being away from home for 10 days and I was trying to remember if I've ever done that! I have traveled a lot, but only in less than 10-day stretches, I think. Maybe once, but that's it. I love traveling, but I like home, too, and returning home is the best! You feel so welcomed. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI am a homebody, and I love being home so much I put together a playlist on my iPod...full of songs whose theme is home.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first time I have run across your blog. I like the title, and I love the Wordsworth quote at the top!
Ah your family sound lovely. There is nowhere quite like home, is there? I miss my home in England and my family all the time. Hope you have a great visit.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic visit. Your home and family sounds wonderful.
