H: Home

I got a new haircut recently. I thought about blogging about that for the H post, but really what more is there to say. I went in with longish hair. Then came out with shortish hair. Pretty standard procedure.
But there is another H word that I am excited about.
Home. The place where my family is. I’m going back home to visit this week. It’s been a while.
It’s going to be great.
I have the most awesome family every. My sister has been counting down for at least a week for me to visit. And my nephew will not let anyone forget to get me at the airport. My mom has been planning what to cook me and is excited for me to teach her how to use her smartphone. (My last visit, she learned how to text. Best thing I ever taught her.) My dad is pretty excited for me to come too. He is saving leftovers from Easter dinner for me.
I can’t wait!

  5. There's no place like home.

Seriously. It can be a source of horrible memories if you had a dysfunctional family situation or the place you always feel loved and welcome. I'm glad yours sounds like the latter.

  11. have a great time! Having a close family is a blessing. My son cooked his first holiday meal, and it was great. (He didn't learn it from me, however. (I think the cooking gene bypassed me somehow).

  12. Stopping by via the A to Z Challenge.

I only get home to see my parents once a year, and I know how much I look forward to it. Have a wonderful trip!

  13. I hope you have a wonderful visit! I'm lucky to live near my siblings and parents, but I haven't lived near extended family since I was 7.

  16. How exciting for you! Someone was just telling me today about being away from home for 10 days and I was trying to remember if I've ever done that! I have traveled a lot, but only in less than 10-day stretches, I think. Maybe once, but that's it. I love traveling, but I like home, too, and returning home is the best! You feel so welcomed. Have fun!

  17. I am a homebody, and I love being home so much I put together a playlist on my iPod...full of songs whose theme is home.

This is the first time I have run across your blog. I like the title, and I love the Wordsworth quote at the top!
